Family Bible Church had its beginning in a Sunday night home Bible study, meeting at the Gene Dylewski home, starting in March of 2008.  Children were welcome, but the study was geared more toward adults.  After a few months another family, the Gould's, wanted to take part but couldn’t participate Sunday evenings due to work obligations.  At that point we added a Sunday morning home Bible study at the John Railton home, including an adult class, as well as a children’s class.  

In the summer of 2009, Marcia Railton shared her vision for combining the two home groups and officially organizing as a church.  With discussion, everyone was on board.  We arranged a rental agreement with Pat McGann, owner of the McGann Hay Funeral Home at State Road 23 and Cherry Road.  The two study groups met together for an organizational meeting Thursday evening, August 6, 2009 at the Jason Railton home.  There were 14 adults and youth, along with 9 children.  At that meeting we made plans to begin Sunday morning worship services, with a junior church for the children.  Volunteers offered to serve in various positions.  Twenty names were suggested for the new church, and we settled on Family Bible Church, suggested by Gene Dylewski.  Our first service as Family Bible Church was on Sunday, September 13, 2009.  Later that afternoon Moriah Railton was baptized at Camp Mack, with a picnic supper following.

We are not a family church, with everyone related, though some of our families are related to one another.  We are, however, a church family.  We enjoy a sense of family at all our activities.  We care for one another, as a family does.  We treat one another as family, with love, respect, and concern.  All ages are represented, from babies to senior citizens.    

Family Bible Church

The Bible is our middle name and it’s the primary source and focus for our studies and teaching.  It’s the inspired word of God.  In it we find directions for abundant life today, and also direction as to how to live forever in the coming kingdom of God.  

Family Bible Church

The word church is used in different ways.  Sometimes it’s the building where Christians gather.  Sometimes it’s the church, or worship service.  It’s also the Christians themselves, the people who form the church.  It can refer to a local church, or to the church at large, including all true believers around the world.  The Greek word, ekklesia, from which our word church is translated, means called out.  The idea is that we’re called out of the world.  We’re to be separate from the world, different from the world, dedicated to God and his son Jesus.  It’s not easy, but we help each other.  It’s a lifelong journey, but eternal life in the Kingdom of God will be well worth it!
